Serving a beautiful slice of cheesecake can definitely take some practice. But luckily we have taken the guesswork out and have provided you with tips on how to store and serve that perfect slice.
Freezing plain cheesecake is the perfect way to preserve your dessert if done properly. However, freezing Cheesecake with toppings and chocolate can be a bit of a challenge. But that's ok. We will give you step by step instructions on how to preserve the freshness and the beauty of both a traditional and a decorated cheesecake.
Slicing a perfect piece of cheesecake isn't as difficult as you may think. Just follow my instructions and you will be able to do it too.
If your cheesecake is frozen, thaw it half way. If it isn't frozen, freeze it half way. Your cake should be firm, but still able to cut through.
Take a long sharp slicing knife, (Ideally, the knife should be as long or longer that the cheesecake.) and a HOT moist towel. When slicing, make sure that your knife is clean and hot during each slice. And slice downwards and out. Never raise your knife up and out of the cake. This will pull the cheesecake up and make it look messy. So in short, your steps are
1) Wipe with a hot towel
2) Slice downwards
3) Pull out horizontally
4) Wipe and start again.
